Registry Items Clogging Your System
Aside from the typical computer nasties like viruses, there is actually something else which very little focus or attention is given to - which causes even worse computer issues. If it is speed and performance of your computer that you are concerned about - you might like to read a little bit about something called the "registry". Ever PC has one, and it is vital to the running of the machine.
However, what people fail to realize is that almost every time they make a change to a program on their computer, there are hundreds of actions taking place in the registry - leaving a permanent track of everything which has occurred on a computer since the very first day that it was started up. Indeed - if you are thinking that you have done a lot of things since the unwrapping of your PC - you are probably well underestimating the true contents of what is hidden in the depths of your system hard drive.
Time For A Clean Up
Luckily, just as we are able to clean up our hard drives by doing a system defragmentation, we are also able to clean up the contents of the registry system by doing a "registry sweep" or clean. The only difference is that your PC doesn't come with a pre-installed program enabling you to do this. You will have to find one on the internet.
This is where people need to tread very carefully. The registry is not just a simple store of files and folders. It stores things like "keys", "adapts", and "pointers". In order for a program to be successful at cleaning these up - it needs to be specialized to deal with the registry in particular.
Unfortunately, normal anti-virus or anti-spyware programs simply won't cut it. They do a great job of removing the fundamental flaws of a computer - and obvious things which affect the day to day operation of programs and the operating system as a whole. However, they do very little in depth cleansing of places such as the registry.
Luckily, there are a number of programs available online to help you solve any registry issues you may be having.
